Service Description

Our Individual Planning Meetings are an opportunity for kaiako and whānau to come together and focus on your child’s individual learning, development, interests and wellbeing. During the meeting, we will share observations and discuss what your child is currently learning, what they are interested in, their strengths, emerging skills and any areas where they may benefit from additional support or encouragement. Whānau knowledge is an important part of this process. We welcome you to share your aspirations, goals, culture, interests, experiences and anything happening at home that may help us better understand and support your child. Together, we will identify meaningful learning goals and next steps and consider how these can be supported through our programme and everyday experiences at Kiwi Iti. These meetings also provide an opportunity to discuss your child’s transition, relationships, routines, wellbeing and sense of belonging, and to ensure that home and centre are working together. Our aim is to create a shared understanding of your child and ensure their learning plan reflects who they are, what matters to them and what they are working towards. Whānau voice matters. Together, we can support each tamaiti to thrive, learn and grow.
